Studies that have looked into the provisioning of the different ecosystem services (as defined in the Millenium Ecosystem Service Assessment) in single species vs mixed species stands will be synthesised. The scientific results will be compared with the outcome of a questionnaire that will be distributed among stakeholders in Flanders and Wallonia. In this questionnaire the stakeholders’ perception on the delivery potential of the same ecosystem services in single species vs. mixed stands will be assessed.

Preliminary results from the stakholder's questionnaire are available from here. During the last phase of the FORBIO project, this extensive dataset will be analysed in-depth and results will be confronted to current knowledge on ecosystem functioning in pure versus mixed forest stands.
