  • Publications
A white paper containing a review of the social, economic and environmental aspects acting in mixed vs single species stands as well as a confrontation with the perceptions of the different stakeholders on these issues was presented as a special issue of BosRevue in Dutch and as a special issue of Forêt Wallonne in French.

An extensive English summary of the review can be read in the final report of FORBIO for SSD, alongside  detailed information about the experimental sites and design.

  • Experimental sites

The most important output of the FORBIO project are the three experimental sites (Zedelgem, Gedinne and Hechtel-Eksel) (Experiments). More details about the experimental sites and design can also be found in the final report of FORBIO for SSD, alongside a summary of the review (review).

Download: Final Report Forbio

Due to the slow development of forest ecosystems, no research results of the experimental sites are available yet.
On the longer run, this experiment will potentially yield very valuable outputs. A list of research projects that have
already started on the experimental sites is available (Research).
